* Description: After an overnight boat trip we finally dropped an anchor ,the engines were shut down and we all stood looking in total silence taking in the moment .
A still fjord lies beneath towering cliffs where drifting mist softens the boundary between rock, water and sky. My painting Doubtful Sound explores the feeling of entering a landscape so vast that sound itself seems to disappear. Layers of muted blues, greys and greens invite the eye towards the distant light, while broad, understated brushwork allows atmosphere to take precedence over detail. It is a painting about scale, solitude and quiet reflection, asking the viewer to slow down and experience the calm held within the landscape.
